Register for a site

Subscription for an OCEAN Artists website

Subscription gives you:

• unrestricted use of our software, enabling you to create your own website and to alter or update any part of it at any time during the period of subscription
  
  
• online hosting of your website for the period of the subscription
  
  
• a FREE subscription to a general purpose website builder courtesy of our partners Easywebwriter. This can be used in conjunction with OCEANartists to build a more customised site.

Any extra costs?

If you want to have your own domain name (e.g. www.yourdomain.com ) this is an additional £15 a year if we register it for you. You will need to tell us the name you want when registering and it must be available for registration.

The only possible extra cost would be if your site becomes exceptionally popular and the traffic puts an unacceptable strain on our servers. You would need to have tens of thousands of visitors a month before this would become an issue, and prices for the additional bandwidth you might require would be very reasonable. We would contact you to discuss the situation should it arise.


Optional extras

Fully customized page design Our standard design has at the top left of the home page your own graphic or logo, together with your site's name in bold type. However the entire top area across the full width of the screen, together with the background texture of pages, can be customized or branded for your collection.

Unique Home page designed for your new site The OCEAN templates make it easy to create a standard home page for your independent website. But a home page designed uniquely for you can also be provided if you wish.

Fully customized pages hosted on your own existing site Our pages can be transferred to become part of your own website if you already have one. The price will depend on the complexity of linking your system and ours.

Finally, would you like us to create your site for you?

If you do not have digital images of the items you want to feature, you may prefer us to create your site. You would need to send us:

• a print or transparency of each item

• a site graphic or logo if you want one to feature top left on your home page

• the name of your site (to appear at the top of every page)

• the copyright line for your images

• a title for each group of up to eight images

• a brief caption (maximum about 8 words) and some descriptive text (maximum about 300 words) for each image

• whatever text you require for the two columns of your introductory page

Cost: A one-off payment of £50 for each group of eight items.

There will be a further charge of £20 for each group if you prefer to send the text as typescript rather than as a digital document (preferably Word)

Contract

Your registering for a site and our acceptance of your registration will be taken to mean that both sides accept the terms of this simple contract:

1 OCEAN Artists will maintain online to the best of our endeavours, within our general Terms and Conditions and for the appropriate contractual period, your administration site and your published site

2 The contractual periods are either one or three years from the date when your administration site is first made available to you.

3 You may terminate the agreement with OCEAN Artists at any time, whereupon your material will be removed from the OCEAN database and your OCEAN Artists site will go offline (in these circumstances there will be no refund for any remaining part of the contractual period)
